School Ethos and Aims
The special character of a Catholic school and the
underlying reason for its existence, the reason why Catholics prefer it, is
precisely the quality of the religious instruction integrated into the overall
education of the students.
Prayer makes the Catholic school distinctive from those other schools whose
educational objectives are not inspired by Christianity.
Good curriculum “prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and
experience of adult life.”
A church school can truly succeed only if there is partnership between home
school and parish.
The Aims of Sacred Heart School are to:
Provide a welcoming, compassionate community based on Gospel
values, in which all are equally loved and valued for who they are.
Provide the opportunity for every child to reach their full
potential.
Provide a stimulating learning environment where children learn
how to learn, feel safe, make good choices and are self motivated.
Provide an atmosphere where diversity is celebrated and there is
equal opportunity for all.
Develop a lifelong love of God, of learning and of each other
which goes beyond the school gates and results in excellent home/school/parish
relationships.
Ensure our children grow into responsible future citizens with
high self-esteem, self-discipline, consideration and respect for others.
