Study Support (OOHL) Policy
Overall School Aim
At Sacred Heart School we aim to provide a positive, secure and happy
environment where each individual is valued. We enable our students to fulfill
their potential by providing access to a rich, broad, balanced and relevant
curriculum matched to their individual needs. We seek to ensure our students
benefit from inclusive approaches in and out of school. We aim to equip our
students with the skills and knowledge they need to enrich their lives and
achieve fulfilment.
Values and Principles
Sacred Heart recognises the value of offering extended learning opportunities
to students at the school. Our study support programme enhances and enriches
the school curriculum by enabling students to take part in a range of
innovative activities outside curriculum hours. Activities can be during the
lunch period 12:00 - 13:00 and after 15:15pm.
Aims

Management / Leadership
Staff will have a major role to play in the planning, delivery, celebration and
evaluation of the schools study support programme. The Study Support
Coordinator ensures the programme is implemented and regularly reviewed. The
programme of study support is firmly embedded within the schools improvement
plan, and is linked to the schools targets for improvement and raising
achievement.
Development
Through monitoring and evaluation we aim to maintain and develop our provision making
use of staff expertise and quality external organisations.
Monitoring and Evaluation
The school, including students, monitor the impact and quality of the study
support programme with annual reviews. Consultation with students and parents
form an integral part of the evaluation process. Evaluations will form the
basis of an annual Action Plan. The policy will be reviewed annually by the
Study Support Coordinator.
