After School Clubs
2005/2006
During the academic
year 2005/6 a number of after school clubs have run. As usual Football was one
of the most popular with Sports Development, Team Theme and Simon Carson Sports
School offering opportunities at various times during the year. Parents have
been heavily involved in the training of our football teams: Sacred Heart
Athletic were trained by Duggie Gray; Sacred Heart Blasters were trained by
Michael Gething Snr: Sacred Heart Crusaders were trained by Paul Colley. By far
our most successful team this year have been Sacred Heart Angels, trained by
Paula Campbell.
In addition Sports
Development have provided the children with opportunities to play Tag Rugby,
Basketball, Cricket and Athletics. They have also laid on a multi-skills club
for the seven and unders, where the emphasis is on Fun.
Miss Reeve has
enjoyed her year running the Netball Club. Children have taken part in two
competitions and have had two Y6 girls scouted by a local club.
Next year we hope to run shorter courses with
a greater variety of sports to try, as well as re-establishing non-sporting
activities. Hopefully all children will attend at least one club during the
course of the year.
