School Council
Sacred
heart School Council for 2011-2012 is now up and running and have started our
meetings.
We meet
every other Thursday in Mrs Shield’s room and have already talked about some of
the aims we hope to achieve this year.
As you can
see from this picture, there are quite a lot of us this year but this is great
because it means we have lots of ideas to share!

Already
this year we are in the process of arranging a fundraising disco! Watch out for more details on this soon.
Also, we
are about to conduct a survey in school to check that everyone is keeping up
with our healthy eating ethos. We will
be making posters and doing assemblies to further encourage this to the rest of
the school.
Please keep popping back here to find out what else we get up to and
achieve because as well as having a serious side, we also like to have some
fun!

SEG
Social & Emotional Group
Here in
SEG we can seem like a serious bunch as we try to help the rest of the school maintain
a healthy social and emotional personal wellbeing.
We care
very much how the children in school feel and like to make sure that everyone
is the best they can be.
We
understand that if children (and teachers!) feel happy, loved and secure then
they will achieve their full potential.
We meet
every other Thursday in Mrs Shields room to discuss
how we can encourage and help around school.
We have
already taken part in an assembly to talk about how important it is to make
sure that everyone has someone to play with at playtime and lunchtime. To achieve our goal of making sure no-one is
left to play alone who doesn’t want to, we have introduced the ‘Buddy
Stop’. This is a place where children
can go if they want someone to play with and the SEG members will watch out for
them. We will then either play with
them, help them top try a friend or, if there are a group of children, we will
teach them some games they can play.

We have
already talked about what we would like to achieve this year and are starting
to put our plans into action.
Keep
coming back here to find out what else we will be helping the children of
Sacred Heart to achieve!
