Our school council is made up of children from Y3 –Y6. The children wear a red polo shirt so everyone knows who they are! We meet every other Thursday lunchtime from 12:30-1:00pm.
There is a school council noticeboard at our back door with photographs of each member as well as minutes of meetings. Our noticeboard also has a suggestion book were children can write in their suggestions and a member of the school council brings this to the meeting to be discussed.
Six of our children are also members of a steering group set up to lead and monitor the progress of the Rights Respecting Schools Award we are applying for.
We have been working towards making our playground a friendlier environment. We decided to move the huts around to create different areas. The huts are going to be used as a reading area, a quiet area, an art area, a music area and a games area. As a school council we will make sure that these huts are kept tidy.
Recently the school council took part in The Laying of the First Poppy at the Cenotaph on Linthorpe Road.
